How it Works

• Subscribe to the service online and you will be asked to provide details of four contacts that you feel you trust to care for your pets in an emergency.
• You receive a wallet sized card with your ID number and a key fob with the same information. Emergency crews/ hospital staff are trained to look for ID and will see your card and/or key fob and contact us.
• When we are contacted we will immediately bring up your information on our database and will attempt to contact your ‘primary carer’ 5 times in the first 2 hours. Should we not be able to contact them we will then continue to try and contact all your nominated carers until we are successful and they are able to take immediate action to rescue your pets.
• If, after 4 hours, we are unable to make any contact with any of your carers we will notify your veterinary surgeon and the RSPCA to ensure your pet receives attention.
• We will not cease to be involved until we have been assured that your pets are in good hands and receiving care you would be happy with in your absence at such a distressing time.

Together with carer information we also hold medication requirements for your pet and long term care options.

We require that your primary carer also holds a key for your home , if they do not, this could result in access problems and/or damage to doors to gain entry. The more contact carers hold keys the better.

RescueMyPet subscription includes a wallet-sized card and a key fob with our number and has been designed to incorporate an internationally recognized emergency medical symbol.

Emergency personnel are trained to look for and respond to any vital personal information at the scene of an accident. Once the RescueMyPet card is located the emergency personnel will contact us and provide our call center with vital information including the unique ID number on the card.

Your Pets profile and potential guardians are listed in our secure data base. You can access your profile any time to add pets, Guardians, notify us of boarding kennels or petsitters where your pet may be while you are away on holiday/business or update your profile.
